SONG PREMIERE: The Vindys unleash arena-ready pop-rock on the new single “Elton Glasses Baby”

The Vindys have built a rock-solid reputation through word of mouth over the last decade, captivating audiences with their unique blend of rock, soul and pop.

The Youngstown, Ohio-based band is led by powerful singer-songwriter Jackie Popovec, who The Canton Repository quoted “…is eerily reminiscent of Amy Winehouse in the more retro songs, while the harder, more atmospheric numbers are full-on rock’n’roll.” The band is completed by John Anthony on lead guitar and Rick Deak on rhythm guitar. The expanded line-up includes Owen Davis on drums, Brendan Burke on bass, Nathan Anthony on keyboards, Kyle O’Donnell on trumpet, Brian Mayle on trombone and Garret Kuchmaner on saxophone.

The Vindys album, Mistake, received much praise from critics and was described as “…a record that showcases a maturing, versatile band whose musical palette encompasses everything from raw classic rock to vintage jazz to sophisticated pop.” by the Cantonal repository. WKSU (NPR) called it “…a 10-track rock ‘n’ roll triumph that blends the group’s vintage jazz aesthetic with a more straightforward blues-rock sound.” Ear to the ground stated: “…The Vindys are one of the best and most talented acts on the national stage. The rockers have long produced soulful and exquisite songs, but with their latest album they proved themselves to be a magnetic force of sonic mastery.

As the band prepares to release another album in early 2025 and embark on their first national tour with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Slide presents his new single “Elton Glasses Baby” (PRE-SAVE). The song is one of their more pop-oriented songs and was written by frontwoman Jackie Popovec and guitarists John Anthony and Rick Deak. In fact, the song has an arena-ready sound that straddles the line between rousing pop and big-stage rock. We get dramatic vocal flourishes, lively guitar fills and an airy, anthemic sound that is sure to grab the attention of a new audience.
