Kevin Costner “open to love”

Kevin Costner has stated that he is open to finding new love after his divorce from Christine Baumgartner.

Regarding his decision about how his life will continue after the separation, the actor said he will not let “anything” harden his heart.

Regarding falling in love again, he said in a June 20 People magazine cover story that he loved “the idea of that possibility.”

When asked how he is managing his life after his ex filed for divorce in May 2023 after nearly 20 years of marriage, he simply replied, “Just do it.”

“Just keep talking, keep training (the kids) and keep being interested in the things that interest them,” he continued.

The father of seven children – with Baumgartner he has sons Cayden (17) and Hayes (15) and 14-year-old daughter Grace – added that he hopes to find love again.

“Yes, I think everyone would like to be in love,” said the three-time Golden Globe winner, who also has four adult children: Annie, 40, Lily, 37, Joe, 36, and Liam, 27.

“It’s such a good feeling,” he explained.

“Maybe it needs to be defined differently. But yes, I love the idea of that possibility.”

Earlier this week, Costner denied rumors of a romance with singer Jewel, saying on Tuesday on the Howard Stern Show: “Jewel and I are friends – we’ve never dated, ever. She’s special and I don’t want these rumors to destroy our friendship because that’s what we have.”
