Netflix’s first interactive romantic comedy, Choose Love, is now available

Netflix’s first interactive romantic comedy, Choose Love, is finally available on the streaming service.

Choose Love follows in the footsteps of Black Mirror’s interactive thriller Bandersnatch and allows viewers to create their own story while controlling the outcome of the protagonist’s love life.

Starring Laura Marano, Avan Jogia and Scott Michael Foster, the film’s synopsis states: “Cami, a sound engineer who seems to have it all: a dream job, a steady boyfriend and a bright future.”

“But things have turned out a little differently than she planned. As she reevaluates her life, Cami’s fate is entirely in her hands – from choosing a new career path to reevaluating her relationships.”

As the film progresses, viewers are given various choices that affect how the story unfolds. For example, they can choose whether or not Cami dares to kiss various suitors.

You can watch this title on various devices such as smart TVs, gaming consoles, internet browsers, and streaming media players like Roku or Fire TV Sticks.

If you see the “Spark” icon in the Choose Love preview, that means you can join. If not, or if you see a message saying your device isn’t supported, you’ll need to try a more up-to-date viewing method.

To participate, you can use your TV remote control, game controller, computer mouse, or your finger on touchscreen devices to make the decisions displayed.

Directed by Stuart McDonald of A Perfect Pairing and written by Josann McGibbon of Runaway Bride, Choose Love joins other popular interactive options on Netflix, including Cat Burglar, Headspace: Unwind Your Mind and Trivia Quest.

Ahead of the release of Choose Love, Scott described what it was like making the interactive film, saying they “basically made three complete movies.”

“It’s one of those things where you show up with the daily inserts and you do a scene with X, Y and Z. And then you go back and say, ‘Okay, so you did X and Y, and now we’re going to change Z.’ And then you go back and say, ‘Okay, X and Z are the same, now you change Y.'” he told Movie Web.

He also said that the film offers viewers “a lot of different choices” and that there are “16 different endings.”

“Choose Love” is available to watch now on Netflix.
