Local woman starts clothing collection for children

MILWAUKEE – Five years ago, Raejean Kanter started a Christmas clothing drive for children in Africa.

Kanter came up with the idea while researching a children’s book about Christmas around the world. She noticed that little girls all over Africa wanted a new dress for Christmas.

In 2018, Kanter decided to make that dream come true.

Over the next few years, Kanter will distribute not just new clothes, but more than 5,000 new items of clothing to boys and girls in Cameroon, Uganda and Nigeria.
