If singing hadn’t worked out, Taylor Swift could have made a name for herself as a babysitter. In a recent interview with WREG News Channel 3Professional wrestler Jeff Jarrett revealed that the 34-year-old pop star babysat his three daughters when they were teenagers – which had special meaning for him since his wife Jill Gregory had just died.

“She’s a family friend,” Jarrett told the organization. “She was very good to my family during a very dark time in our family. My wife got sick and passed away, but Taylor was like a big sister and would come over, take the girls, bake cookies and just hang out at the house.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Taylor,” he continued. “Just a sweetheart. I still call her ‘our girl’ and now she’s hanging out in the NFL circles.”

Gregory died in May 2007, just months after Swift released her self-titled debut album. The WWE Hall of Fame member also clarified that Swift was “never on Jeff Jarrett’s payroll,” suggesting that the 14-time Grammy winner was watching over the girls – Joslyn, Jaclyn and Jerlyn – out of the goodness of her heart.

The “Anti-Hero” singer has been friends with the Jarrett family since she moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee, as a teenager to pursue her music career. In 2010, she enlisted Jaclyn to play a younger version of herself in the “Mine” music video, for which the wrestler and his children flew to Maine to shoot with several other young family friends, whom Swift hired to play the roles of her future children.

“I know all of these families personally for different weird, spooky reasons,” the singer said in a behind-the-scenes video at the time. “I’m just excited that they’re going to be in the video because I didn’t want them to be strangers, the people who are playing my future family.”

Almost fifteen years later, Swift is now on her worldwide Eras Tour, which last stopped in Zurich on Tuesday (July 9) with two shows. Exactly one year and one day earlier, the superstar released the re-recorded version of the 2011 album Speak Nowwith an updated version of the lead single “Mine”.
