The experienced broadcaster will work with commentators Wade Barrett and Corey Graves.

The team of Pat McAfee and Michael Cole remains unchanged.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque had nothing but good things to say about Tessitore’s signing.

“Whether it’s a world championship match that has the world on edge or a college football rivalry that has the nation’s attention, Joe’s voice conveys the feeling of a major event every time he steps up to the microphone,” Levesque said.

“We are excited to have Joe join legendary WWE commentator Michael Cole and our esteemed commentary team, bringing his signature energy and meticulous preparation to our WWE broadcasts each week.”

Tessitore is just as excited as Levesque to join the announcing team.

“It’s an honor to be part of WWE. The recent success and development is undeniable,” said Tessitore.

Tessitore continued to praise both announce teams and WWE production after attending Wrestlemania XL.

Fans stormed social media to share their opinions on WWE’s newest addition.

“A perfect fit. I look forward to him calling WWE every week. He’s actually a wrestling fan so that’s even better. Welcome Joe!” raved one fan of X.

“Excited to see this!” said a fifth fan.

Tessitore will retain his role at ESPN and ABC and will continue to commentate on college football games.

The 53-year-old sports reporter has extensive experience in commentating on major events.

He has commentated on ESPN and ABC Saturday night prime time games, the College Football Playoffs, and more.

While working at ABC, Tessitore had the opportunity to commentate on several Monday Night Football, NFL Pro Bowl and Wildcard Playoff games.

Tessitore has also commentated on top fights by Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Terence Crawford, among many others.

The exact date when Tessitore will begin commentating WWE matches is unknown, but he is expected to join the team in late summer.
