Why Lena Dunham wants to protect Taylor Swift

Why Lena Dunham wants to protect Taylor Swift

“Loml”: In this moving song, Taylor begins by singing about being called the love of her life “about a million times,” but the dynamic soon changed.

“When you see it at first glance, it’s legendary,” she notes. “What we thought was forever was short-lived.”

She ends the song by letting the person know, “You are the loss of my life.”

Although it could be about her long relationship with Joe, lyrics like “rekindled flames” and “we were just kids, baby” suggest it’s about the spark that has been rekindled between her and Matty after all these years: “I’ve never felt a glow like this before or since.”

“I can do it with a broken heart”: The song seems to be about Taylor pushing through her Eras Tour despite the heartbreak, noting that she is “achieving her goals” on stage in front of a cheering crowd. She hides her emotions by putting on a strong face: “Lights, camera, bitch smile.”

Although this song is happy, it also contains lyrics about unrequited love.

“I’m so obsessed with him but he avoids me like the plague. I cry a lot but I’m so productive, it’s an art,” she sings. “You know you’re good when you can do it even with a broken heart.”

“The smallest man who ever lived”: Taylor has a few questions for “the smallest man who ever lived” who seemingly ended their relationship out of nowhere.

“You turned out the stage lights but you’re still performing,” she sings. “And in plain sight you were hiding / But you are what you did.”
