The Phillies face a real test on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park when the NL West-leading Dodgers come to Philly to open a three-game series, a possible preview of a late October series as both clubs are positioned for a run to the World Series.

Pitching duels and starting times: RHP Zack Wheeler (9-4, 2.74) vs. RHP Bobby Miller (1-1, 6.12) on Tuesday. LHP Cristopher Sanchez (6-4, 2.96) vs. RHP Gavin Stone (9-2, 3.03) on Wednesday. RHP Aaron Nola (10-4, 3.48) vs. TBA on Thursday.

Series: The two teams have not yet met this season. Overall, the Dodgers lead the all-time list with 1,185 to 928.

Dodgers Update (55-36): The Dodgers were considered preseason favorites to win the West and compete for the National League championship, and they showed why, as the club comes to Philadelphia with a 7 1/2 game lead in the division.

Phillies Update (58-32): The Phillies lost two of three games in Atlanta last weekend and the offense has stalled, but the club can get Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper back from the injured list on Tuesday. The offense has scored two or fewer runs in three of the last four games.
