Blackpink singer Lisa lands the biggest hit of her career in America

Blackpink singer Lisa lands the biggest hit of her career in America

Blackpink singer Lisa became one of the girl group’s most successful members years ago when she launched her solo career. In 2021, she made history when she released a collection of two songs under her own name that were well received around the world.

Years later, she’s back with another new song and things are going spectacularly. In fact, Lisa’s latest single is not just another success for the musician, but the biggest hit of her solo career – at least in America.

“Rockstar” by Lisa enters the Hot 100 this week. The song lands at number 70 on the list of the most consumed songs in the USA

Number 70 now marks Lisa’s highest Hot 100 placement on her own list, beating her previous peak by 14 spots. So it’s clear that the singer’s popularity in the country is only getting stronger as time goes on and her rise continues steadily.

Before this week, Lisa’s highest appearance on the Hot 100 was number 84. Her solo debut, “Lalisa,” opened and peaked at that position in September 2021.

Just a few months later, Lisa doubled her total number of hits on the Hot 100. “Money,” released at the same time as “Lalisa,” was also released as a focus track, and American fans responded by buying and streaming the song in large numbers. Although it only peaked at number 90, it stayed on the charts for two weeks. “Money” is Lisa’s only track to have more than one spot on the Hot 100 – at least so far.

As a member of Blackpink, Lisa has climbed much higher, even if those hits are counted separately. The girl group has five top 40 hits on the Hot 100, including collaborations with Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga, as well as songs that no one else has contributed to.

“Rockstar” is successful mainly thanks to its considerable sales. The single hit Billboard Chart, the Rap Digital Song Sales list, last week after just a few hours of purchase activity. Now, after the first full seven-day tracking period has passed, the song has become a certified bestseller.

Lisa lands at No. 7 on the Digital Song Sales chart – the all-genre ranking of the country’s best-selling songs. Luminate reports that the song sold over 6,100 copies in the last tracking period. That’s enough to send the hit to No. 2 on the aforementioned Rap Digital Song Sales list.
