Weld County Sheriff’s Office task force recovers stolen explosives, equipment in Greeley – Greeley Tribune

Just four days after they were reported missing, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office response team recovered stolen explosives and equipment from a Greeley address Thursday morning.

On Monday, a deputy responded to a call involving the theft of explosives and equipment, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. The news release did not specify what type of explosives and equipment were stolen.

That same day, the task force, along with detectives from the Greeley Police Department, searched a storage unit, where investigators found evidence related to the theft.

Members of the response team continued their investigation and tracked the stolen goods to an address in Greeley, the release said. On Thursday, the Weld County SWAT team, Greeley SWAT team, response team and sheriff’s office patrol officers searched the suspicious address and recovered the stolen explosives and equipment.

The task force will continue its investigation.
