Sing-along train brings Taylor Swift fans to Miami Eras Tour concert

For some it may be a daydream, for others a nightmare: A Taylor Swift sing-along train will transport fans to and from the pop star’s Eras Tour concerts in Miami this fall.

Brightline, a private railroad serving Central and South Florida, is partnering with iHeartRadio on the Swift-themed trains, which will depart Orlando twice daily during the singer’s three-day October residency at Hard Rock Stadium. Orlando-based radio DJs will play songs from Swift’s two-decade repertoire during the train ride, while guests dine on “curated” food between lyrics, Brightline said.

Some sing-along trains showed on Tuesday that they were already sold out.

“This is more than a ride – it’s the first immersive experience of its kind,” said Travis Christ, Brightline’s chief commercial officer, in a press release.

Brightline avoids mentioning Swift directly in its advertising campaigns, instead talking about “Tay tunes” being played on “SWIFT rides” to “The Big Concert.” The rail company has previously attracted attention with its service connecting downtown Miami to Orlando International Airport and its partnership with a shuttle company that takes passengers directly to Disney World parks and nearby hotels.

Swift, who is playing the European leg of her 152-date Eras Tour, will return to the U.S. in the fall for shows in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up her tour in Canada. The billion-dollar tour and the release of Swift’s 11th studio album in April have prompted spontaneous and themed events around the world, many of them unofficial. A Swift cruise, for example, is set to depart in October.

Brightline is not the first transportation service to benefit from the financial impact of the Tour. Rally used special buses for the leg at SoFi Stadium in California last summer, and transit agencies in Eras Tour cities have set up additional services to meet fan demand.

Single tickets for the Miami concert trains — which drop passengers off at the Aventura station and connect them to a shuttle to Hard Rock Stadium — start at $209 for the entire trip from Orlando. Brightline will also offer late-night trains from Aventura, where the company promises a Swiftian pop-up bar. (Although the return trips aren’t advertised as Swift sing-along events, one imagines such a train wouldn’t exactly be a quiet Amtrak car.)

Anyone who needs to use the Singalong Train route this weekend — which includes stops in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale — for a purpose other than Swift can book a train at a different time, Brightline spokeswoman Vanessa Alfonso wrote in an email. Otherwise, headphones may be required. Singing will take place, Alfonso said, “on ALL Singalong trains.”
