Comic-Con: Paramount Animation and Hasbro bring Chris Hemsworth and “Transformers One” to Hall H

Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment are bringing “Transformers: One” to Hall H at San Diego Comic Con, the studio announced Tuesday.

Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key, director Josh Cooley and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura will also take part in the panel discussion and the presentation of exclusive footage. The film is the first animated “Transformers” film in almost 40 years.

The panel in Hall H will kick off the convention on Thursday, July 25 at 11:45 a.m. PT. Fans who attend the panel will receive an exclusive poster.

Paramount was the only film studio to host a panel last year with “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.”

The animated film recently screened at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Drew Taylor of TheWrap wrote, “It’s exactly what was described — an origin story about how two young robots (voices: Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry) went from best friends to sworn enemies, eventually becoming known as Optimus Prime and Megatron. The animation style showcased in the early trailer; a sort of 1980s painterly lunchbox aesthetic, is very present in the finished film — all vibrant colors and glossy surfaces.”

The animated film also features Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm.

“Transformers: One” will be in theaters on September 20th.

Deadline first reported the news.
