It has been over two years since her beloved husband of 52 years, Helmut Huber, died, and Susan Lucci “cannot imagine” ever being in a relationship again.

In a new interview, the 77-year-old “All My Children” alum talked about the thought of finding love again and explained why she can’t imagine dating any time soon.

“I know everyone is different, I can’t imagine it, you know?” Lucci told Entertainment Tonight. “Never say never, but I just can’t imagine it.”

“It’s different for everybody and, you know, part of it is making the decision to get up off the ground and put one foot in front of the other. I mean, it’s better to move on with your life,” she added. “The other thing is I know this life is a gift, it’s meant to be a gift from God, and I’m never going to ignore that. I’m grateful. And I’m very grateful to have the love and to have had Helmut in my life.”

Huber died on March 28, 2022, at the age of 84 on Long Island, New York. The Austrian-born television producer and Lucci have two adult children: daughter Liza and son Andreas.

“He always made me laugh and was always there for me. He was a rock and very reliable,” Lucci said. “(He was) very funny, very confident in a good way and very strong as a leader, which is what you would expect from him.”

“He was one of those people you wanted to be in charge of because he knew what to do and how to get things done. And at the same time, he came from such a good background.”

The couple met in 1969 while they were both working at the Garden City Hotel on Long Island, where he was the head chef and Lucci was working as a clerk during summer break from college. The two married in September of that year after dating for three weeks.

In 2020, Lucci told Fox News Digital that Huber never left her side.

“I was really lucky because I married someone who is smart and good-looking, and he’s very confident and has a great sense of humor,” she said at the time. “And luckily he wasn’t just supportive, which is a nice word. He was there with me, really hands-on and right there for me. He was really a rock, and I was lucky because how could I have known all this beforehand? I was 22.”

Lucci recently announced that she turned down an offer to be the “Golden Bachelorette” despite the franchise being her “secret vice.”

“I think they contacted my PR agent, and it wasn’t because of me,” Lucci told People magazine in May. “I watched ‘The Golden Bachelor.’ I really enjoyed ‘The Golden Bachelor.’ This is a new addiction for me.”

Lucci explained that her mother, Jeanette Lucci, loved the show but didn’t become interested in the franchise until “a few seasons ago.” Susan’s assistant told her to give “The Bachelor” a chance.

“My assistant told me she was going home to watch ‘The Bachelor’ with her daughters,” Lucci told the outlet. “She said, ‘Well, it’s really good.’ I watched it. The first time I saw it that night was a couple of seasons ago. I was immediately hooked. It interested me. I wanted to know more about these people.”

Although the reality TV series is her “new secret passion,” Susan said, “I didn’t push it when they called my press agent to ask if I was interested.”

“It wasn’t for me, but I like to watch. I’m a fan. I like to watch.”

In addition to her personal life, Lucci gave an update on her health, about six years after she first suffered cardiac trauma in 2018.

“I’m in very good shape and feeling very good,” Lucci, a longtime ambassador for the American Heart Association, told ET. “I had a blockage, a 90 percent blockage in my main artery and a 75 percent blockage in the adjacent artery. And luckily I listened to my body and there was someone there (her doctor) who was able to get me to go to the hospital.”

Speaking to Fox News Digital earlier this year, Lucci recalled the horrific moment when she realized something was wrong.

“I remember my husband and I were waiting to get a table at a restaurant in October,” she said. “The waiter was coming to see us when I felt a slight pressure on my chest that I had never felt before. It was very mild, so I thought, ‘This must be because the holidays are coming up. How many presents do I have to buy?’ I just thought it was the holiday stress. So I ignored it, like many of us women do. I just thought, ‘This will pass.'”

A few weeks later, Lucci said, she began experiencing the same symptoms.

“I felt this pressure on my chest, only this time it radiated around my ribcage and into my back,” Lucci added. “I’d never experienced that before either. I’ve never had any medical problems. So again, I thought, ‘My bra is too tight.’ I knew it wasn’t. I went home, checked it, and it wasn’t. And the pressure just stopped.”

Later, a scan showed that Lucci’s main artery to her heart was 90% blocked. According to her medical team, if she hadn’t done anything about her symptoms, she would have succumbed to the “widowmaker,” a fatal heart attack. Lucci could have gone to bed that night and never woken up. Doctors inserted two stents.

Lucci said she will continue to raise awareness about women’s heart health in the hope that she can help save a life.

“My message to women is to listen to your body,” she said. “Always put yourself on your to-do list. We don’t even put ourselves on the list. I’m glad I’m here to tell my story.”
