Now open

Auditorium

A new East Austin venue is now accepting bookings for public and private events in the former Don Limon Mexican restaurant and bakery. Before opening, the facility was renovated with a $1.52 million loan from Frontier Bank, sponsored by the Austin Economic Development Department.

Cabana Club

Enjoy a warm cup of coffee or cool off with a dip in the pool at Cabana Club, a new leisure and bar concept in East Austin. Open daily from 7 a.m., the space is telecommuting friendly and features an upscale coffee menu courtesy of Progress Coffee, the company wrote on social media. The club also offers a selection of cocktails.

Casa de Luz East

The longtime local vegan kitchen has opened a new location in partnership with Casa Este. The new east-side space aims to build on its established atmosphere and core daily offering of a flat-rate meal. Casa de Luz East offers volunteer opportunities in its kitchen, and the business is open to partnerships with local urban farms and nutrition programs.

Chalmers

The team behind Armadillo Den and Dainty Dillo – Cade Archer, Brett Berry, Josh Hazzard and Skylar Reeves – have teamed up with fellow restaurateur Michael Covey to open this West Texas-inspired restaurant, bar and eatery. Located in an old, renovated Shell gas station, Chalmers offers country fried steak tenders, cracked wings, a Double Quarter Pounder Burger and more. The drink menu features Armadillo Den and Dainty Dillo classics.

Soon

Bad Larry’s Burger Club

The popular pop-up restaurant, founded by Matthew Bolick, is set to open in its first brick-and-mortar location next year. Bad Larry’s Burger Club specializes in flat smashburgers and will debut in the former Quickie Pickie space. The restaurant will offer other specialties such as breakfast sandwiches in addition to classic burgers.

Secure workspace

A new Fuse Workspace office, event and coworking facility will open on Austin’s east side later this summer. Fuse’s new 33,000-square-foot location will offer more than 120 private offices, four conference rooms and three team suites and will be staffed 24/7. Amenities include on-site parking and bike lockers, a fitness center, multiple patios, fiber optic internet service, and beverage and snack offerings. Reservations for tours of the new building and for dedicated office or desk space are now available online or by calling 737-300-6205.

Micklethwait Craft Meats BBQ & Catering

The longtime food truck is set to be converted into a sit-down restaurant and will move into the company’s catering headquarters. Austin native Tom Micklethwait is the owner and grill master of the company, which has been serving the city since December 2012. The company is known for its oak-smoked meats, including beef brisket, beef ribs, turkey and more.
