The star of “The Boys” wants the series to end with a film after season 5

Summary

  • Laz Alonso has given Eric Kripe a
    Boys
Feature film to conclude the series after season 5.
  • Alsonso suggests that season 5 could end with a cliffhanger that concludes the film, but Kripke does not seem convinced by the idea.
  • A film could be a great ending
    The young
but it could mess up Kripke’s clear vision for the end of the show.

The young Star Laz Alonso shares his hopes for a movie that ends the series after Season 5. Created by Eric Kripke, the hit Prime Video series premiered in 2019 and follows characters Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid) and Mother’s Milk (Alonso) as they try to take down a team of corrupt superheroes. The series is now in the middle of Season 4, and Kripke announced earlier this year that The young Season 5 will conclude the story.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz for the Happy Sad Confused Podcast with some of his colleagues, Alonso reveals that he has a Boys Film to conclude the series.

Unfortunately, Kripke doesn’t seem to be entirely sold on the idea. Here is Alonso’s comment on the possibility of a film:

“I unsuccessfully suggested to Eric (Kripke) that we should end the show with a feature film. Like we’d make the last episode of season five a cliffhanger and announce the movie we’ve been making since the beginning of the series. But he (Kripke) always somehow gets out of it.”

Do the boys need a movie to end the show?

The Prime Video show could work on the big screen

In many ways, The young with a movie would be the perfect meta way to conclude the show. The Dawn of the Seven Film and Vought’s entire entertainment division play a key role in the series, and The young Ending with a film of its own could be an entertaining way to further satirize the superhero film landscapeIn terms of spectacle alone, it might be just the exclamation point that Prime Video needs to end things with a bang.

“The Boys” has always taken aim at Marvel and DC, but Season 4, Episode 5 launches a particularly harsh satirical attack on the comic book giants.

Besides that, The young has excelled as a TV show so far, delivering some great action scenes with stunning visual effects. The series obviously doesn’t need a movie to give audiences intense moments of effects-driven action, and the last few episodes of The young Season 5 will certainly prove this. In addition, Kripke has spoken openly about the series ending with season 5which means he seems to already have a clear end goal in mind.

The young Reviews for Season 4, like previous seasons, have been generally very positive and the series seems deserving of being brought to the big screen. However, making a film for the big screen may not be economically viable given the inevitable R rating and the marketing dollars required to do so. Making a film that goes straight to Prime Video, on the other hand, may not be a format change that really makes sense if Kripke can simply release a series finale that is 1.5 hours long.

New episodes of The young Season 4 releases Thursdays on Prime Video.
