The Michigan football team had some fun recruiting on Monday night. The Wolverines were able to land two of their top 2025 targets and Michigan received commitments from some top teams. Four-star safety Ivan Taylor was the first to commit on Monday around 5 p.m. ET. Taylor was previously a Notre Dame player but decided to transfer his commitment to Michigan and now the Wolverines have two of the best safeties in the entire 2025 cycle along with Kainoa Winston.
Shortly after Taylor committed to Michigan, four-star tight end Andrew Olesh announced he was coming to Ann Arbor, choosing Michigan over Alabama and Penn State. Olesh is a top-five tight end in the 2025 cycle and now Michigan has two top tight ends between Olesh and Eli Owens, who committed a while back.
The Wolverines now have 15 commitments for the 2025 cycle, and Michigan continues to climb the team standings with each commitment. So where does Michigan stand compared to all the other classes?
At the time of this writing, Michigan has jumped four spots in the 247Sports Composite rankings and is now ranked 11th in the 2025 cycle. The Wolverines are now pushing right into the top 10. Michigan has a 91.85 pledge average and that’s the eighth-best mark in the 2025 cycle. So Michigan is not only starting to bring in players, but they’re bringing in good, solid players in their class.
