Richard E. Grant and Tom Ellis join the cast of “The Thursday Murder Club”

Richard E. Grant and Tom Ellis are the latest additions to Netflix The Thursday Murder Club Film based on the popular novel series by Richard Osman.

The newly released cast, alongside Geoff Bell (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Top boy), Paul Freeman (Tokyo Trial, Hunter of the lost treasure), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso, formula 1) and Ingrid Oliver (Last Christmas, Doctor Who) join an all-star cast that includes Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

The film, directed and written by Chris Columbus from Harry Potter Fame, is about a group of friends in a retirement home who meet for fun to solve murders, but suddenly become involved in a real case. The four members of the club are played by Mirren (ex-spy Elizabeth), Kingsley (ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim), Brosnan (former union activist Ron) and Imrie (former nurse Joyce).

Osman’s book received great critical acclaim and quickly became a classic among British crime thrillers.

It is the latest project in the film partnership between Netflix and Amblin, which also includes the upcoming Continuewith Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton.

Columbus and Jennifer Todd are producers of The Thursday Murder Clubwhile Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus, Jo Burn and writer Osman are executive producers.
