The seemingly never-ending stream of new Taylor Swift music has continued with the release of an acoustic version of Fortnight, the first single from current album The Tortured Poets Department.
Like the original, this stripped-down version of the song features Post Malone, but foregoes the moody synths in favor of piano and acoustic guitar. Sonically, it’s reminiscent of Swift’s Folklore and Evermore, the critically acclaimed indie folk albums she recorded at home in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the acoustic rework, there is also a new remix of Fortnight by New York indie pop band Cults. On Instagram, the duo (Brian Oblivion and Madeline Follin) wrote that they were honored to be able to put their own spin on the song. A BLOND:ISH remix of Fortnight was released in May.
Swift is currently in the final stretch of her global Eras tour. Dates in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria will be followed by a return to Wembley Stadium for another five nights in London. After a short break, the tour will then end in Canada with shows in Toronto and Vancouver in November and December.
Independently of this, the exhibition Taylor Swift – Songbook Trail will take place at the V&A in London from July 27 to September 8. It shows costumes, instruments, song lyrics and videos from Swift’s private archive and tells the story of her career at 13 stations.
