Ice Spice just defended Taylor Swift when her song was booed

Amid the growing hatred towards Taylor Swift (Charli XCX was recently forced to release a statement asking her fans to stop chanting “Taylor Swift is dead” at her concerts), another musician had to come to the Queen of Pop’s aid. This time it was one of Swift’s former collaborators and the newest member of the Swift crew, Ice Spice.

During her performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in Vienna over the weekend, Ice Spice hit back when the crowd began booing as “Karma” began playing. The moment, which was filmed by onlookers, promptly went viral before Ice Spice blew kisses to the crowd as they gave her a thumbs down.

Ice Spice’s friendship with the star blossomed when the pair collaborated on a remix of Swift’s 2022 single “Karma” in 2023. At the time, Swift raved about how great it was to work with Ice Spice. In a statement at the time, she said: “Collaborating with Ice Spice on ‘Karma’ was one of the most natural things. She reached out through her team and just said, ‘Hey, Ice has been a huge fan of Taylor’s since she was a kid and would love to collaborate if it ever happens.'”

They have remained close friends since then, and Ice Spice accompanied Swift to the 2024 Super Bowl in February, along with Blake Lively, a longtime member of Swift’s squad. Ice Spice was also invited to perform the remix of “Karma” with Swift at one of the New Jersey concerts of the Eras Tour in May 2024.
