Pixie Lott admits that she and her husband Oliver Cheshire have “different love languages.”
The “Boys and Girls” singer married model Oliver, whom she has been with for 14 years, in June 2022 before giving birth to their son Albert Charles, also known as Bertie, in October 2023. Now she has spoken openly about her long-term relationship.
In the Daily Mail newspaper, she said in the podcast “My Dirty Laundry”: “There are something like seven love languages. There is helpfulness, there are words of affirmation and we actually have different love languages.”
“His services would be helpfulness and valuable time. I feel like I focus on the words of affirmation. I say a lot of things, but I don’t know if that’s actually his love language.
“I don’t know if he really cares that much, but I say nice things.”
The 33-year-old star noted that she and 36-year-old Oliver are “a good team” and focus on their own strengths – especially when it comes to the kitchen.
She said: “I think we make a good team because he’s a really great cook. Thank God because I’m horrible, like really, really sick.”
“Because we started going out so early, I moved into my first apartment in my family’s house and we started going out.
“So he was always cooking. So it’s actually his fault that I didn’t take the kitchen seriously because he was always there.”
The happily in love couple started dating when Pixie was 19, and she feels like the two have “grown up together” and their roots are “so grounded and intertwined.”
She added: “I feel really lucky in that respect. When we started dating, we were used to crazy schedules and living in different places and different time zones.
“It wasn’t like we came together and didn’t have these work plans, and then suddenly it worked out and everything changed.
“So we always knew what to expect and how to get through it. First it was Blackberry Messenger, now it’s WhatsApp, FaceTime and things like that.”
“I’m really lucky to have someone by my side. Family is a big thing for me. It always has been that way and always will be that way. And having Oliver with me – that’s a huge blessing for me.”
