Attention: The day has *finally* come for Taylor Swift’s latest studio album, The “Tortured Poets” sectionto drop… which means it’s time for Swifties everywhere (guilty) to be in their feelings and engage with every single lyric for the next month and a half the least.

Anyway! Today we’re here to talk about one of our all-time favorite songs: “Florida!!!”. While the tribute to the state might seem kind of ??? (or !!!), it kind of makes sense considering the singer grew up in Pennsylvania, her ex-boyfriends Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy are from the UK, and her current boyfriend Travis Kelce is from Ohio. Let us explain…
One theory is that the track alludes to Taylor’s relationship with Joe, as the singer’s first stop after the news of their split was Tampa, Florida, from April 13-15, 2023. She played three nights in the city before moving on to *Drum roll please* Houston April 21-23. The reason this news is so 🤯 is because one of the lyrics of “Florida!!!” is, “So you pack your life away just to wait out the shitstorm in Texas.”
But because Swifties are true geniuses (heh), this is far from the only guess about the song. Case in point? Some have theorized that it’s about Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ split since the fellow musician filed for divorce from the actor in Florida in September 2023.
During her legal battle with Joe, Sophie and her daughters reportedly began living at Tay’s Tribeca home. Page Six. The two also went out to dinner a few times and even attended a Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets in October. Oh, *and* it was reported that one of Tay’s close friends, Brittany Mahomes, told We weekly that she would “love to set Sophie up with one of Travis’ friends.” “Brittany knows Sophie is newly single and has hung out with her before when Sophie attended one of the (Kansas City Chiefs) games. She would love to help play matchmaker,” the source revealed in November 2023.
