OHIO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – Diamond Run Golf Club in Ohio Township has one of the best holes in our entire area, and one with dramatic elevation changes and breathtaking views.
The 9th hole at Diamond Run features tee boxes at one of the highest points in Allegheny County and is designed to appeal to players of all skill levels.
“Number 9 is a unique hole because from our members’ tees it’s a par 5, but from our championship tees it’s actually a par 4,” said head golf professional Adam Morrison.

An elevated tee helps add a little more distance to forced carry shots.
“There’s actually a speed slot down here on the right side of the fairway that, if you hit it down, will probably give you an extra 50 yards into the hole and give you a chance to hit the ball in two shots and make an eagle,” Morrison said.
From the elevated tees you can see the Pittsburgh city skyline.
The hole can be played both into the wind and with the wind, so it can play as a different type of hole depending on the day.

Morrison made a birdie while playing alongside KDKA’s Rich Walsh.
“Get one back before you go to the back,” Morrison said.
