Four-star TE Andrew Olesh commits to Michigan in 2025

Steve Casula just hit a home run in his first stint as the Michigan Wolverines’ tight ends coach after 2025 four-star recruit Andrew Olesh just announced his commitment to the maize and blue on Monday.

Olesh is the second recruit to commit to Michigan today, as 2025 four-star safety Ivan Taylor switched his commitment from Notre Dame to Michigan shortly before Olesh’s decision.

The Wolverines offered the Pennsylvania native in March and secured a spot on his top-8 list just a month later, along with Pittsburgh, Penn State, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Missouri and Ole Miss.

Olesh officially visited Michigan in June for Victors Weekend after previously making official visits to Alabama, Penn State and Florida.

Earlier this summer, I wrote about how Olesh was a priority target for the Wolverines, as Colston Loveland is soon heading to the NFL and Olesh could elevate the level of the entire position group. Casula and Michigan obviously felt he was a priority as well, and have been pushing hard for the talented tight end in recent weeks while not being as aggressive in recruiting other players at the position.

Olesh is the second tight end to join the Wolverines in 2025, joining four-star Eli Owens. He is one of a handful of talented pass catchers joining the Wolverines in the coming seasons. Hotly-touted rookies Brady Prieskorn and Hogan Hansen are also now on the roster.

Michigan’s offense has revolved around the offensive line and the running game, arguably the Wolverines’ two greatest strengths over the past three seasons. A large number of tight ends support the running game and keep the defense on its toes when the Wolverines run plays. Loveland and AJ Barner shined on defense last season. Olesh’s signing strengthens the Wolverines’ offensive mission and gives them another potential star player.

The 247Sports composite ranks Olesh as the 118th best prospect in his class, tied with the fifth best tight end and third best recruit from the state of Pennsylvania. Check out some of the best highlights from Olesh’s junior season below.
