Shaboozey lands at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for the first time with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”

The up-and-coming act took a moment to reflect on the fact that his wildest dreams were finally coming true.

Shaboozey is celebrating another career milestone with his summer hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Announced on Monday, June 8, the double-platinum anthem by the RIAA gave Shaboozey his first-ever No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and a break into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

“WE DID IT GUYS, WE ARE #1, I LOVE YOU ALL, HAPPY BAR SONG DAY, TAKE A DOUBLE SHOT OF WHISKEY FOR ME!” he excitedly told his fans in a message on X (formerly Twitter).

Topping the charts worldwide

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” spent nine weeks in the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 and was on the chart for a total of 12 weeks. It reached the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Song of the Summer chart following its release earlier this year. The song has been streamed over 700 million times and secured Top 10 placements in several countries around the world, including No. 1 in Canada, Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom’s Big 40, and Australia, making it the first independent single to reach No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association chart this year. Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and the United Kingdom’s Big 40.

With his latest chart-topping success, the Virginia-born singer-songwriter has made history as the first single ever to reach the top 10 on all four charts (Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay) and the second single ever by a black artist to top both the Billboard Hot 100 and Country Songs charts.

He and music sensation Beyoncé also reached a historic milestone: They became the first two black artists to have consecutive number one songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Dreams do come true

Shaboozey seems to be beaming with pride and excitement as all of his greatest hopes and dreams are coming true. As the news broke, he took to social media several more times to celebrate with his fans and reflect on the future of his skyrocketing career.

“The actual feeling of ‘dreams coming true’ is indescribable and I hope everyone can experience this at some point in their life,” he wrote in another post.

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” appears on Shaboozey’s highly acclaimed album Where I was is not where I am going which also found its place in the Billboard 200 charts.

After appearing on stage all summer, fans will also be able to experience the genre-bending artist’s lively performances and growing collection of hits during his 2024 headlining tour, “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going.” The first leg of the tour is scheduled to kick off September 9 in Minnesota, MN and continue with stops in Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York, Atlanta, Nashville and more.
