Jennifer Lopez releases breakup song amid divorce rumors about Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez decided to pay tribute to the changes in her life in her 2021 song as she and Ben Affleck continue to face divorce rumors.

On Sunday, Lopez shared the official music video for her song “Cambia El Paso” on Instagram. The song, released in July 2021, features Spanish lyrics that, translated into English, read: “He doesn’t deserve to hold her in his arms.”

Cambia El Paso, which translates to “Change the step,” includes the lyrics “One, two, three, move forward” and “All she wants to do is just dance, dance, dance, dance.”

Lopez’s song continues, “Her life is better now without him… she don’t need nobody to be healthy. She don’t fail, she don’t fail.”

“Happy anniversary Cambia El Paso,” Lopez captioned the video, adding a sun and palm tree emoji.

Representatives for Lopez did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The song was perceived as a “breakup song” due to the powerful lyrics and the timing of its original release. Lopez released the song featuring Rauw Alejandro just months after her split from former MLB star Alex Rodriguez.

Although Jennifer’s post is limited in terms of commenting options, some users were able to show their support for the star.

“If something in your life doesn’t feel right, whatever it is, just change it, move and dance,” one user wrote.

Another added: “Change the way!!! Just keep going and change things… I love you very much Jen I hope you know that.”

In 2021, Lopez explained the meaning behind the song on Pitbull’s Globalization on SiriusXM.

“The song is about change and not being afraid to take the step. Just take the step, make progress, do what you need to do,” Jennifer said at the time. “If something doesn’t feel right, whatever it is in your life, just take the step and dance.”

Lopez shared that “dancing means life, joy and happiness.”

“So when I talk about dancing, I’m talking about something else,” she said. “You have to be yourself. You have to be happy.”

Divorce rumors between Affleck and Lopez continued to circulate after the couple spent Independence Day on July 4 apart. While Affleck was in LA with his children, Lopez was in the Hamptons with friends.

Lopez was spotted wearing her wedding ring on the East Coast, and Affleck wore his wedding ring while out for lunch with his child, Fin, in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The couple celebrated the last Independence Day together. This year, however, the “Atlas” star was without her husband due to divorce rumors.

The two married in July 2022, but now Affleck has reportedly moved all of his belongings out of their shared home. Lopez and Affleck are living separately, a source previously confirmed to Fox News Digital.

Lopez lives in the couple’s $60.8 million mansion in Beverly Hills, while the 51-year-old actor lives in a rental apartment a few miles away in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to People Magazine.
