Legendary singer Usha Uthup’s husband Jani Chacko died of cardiac arrest

The husband of Indian pop star Usha Uthup, Jani Chacko Uthup, died in Calcutta on Monday. The 78-year-old died of cardiac arrest.

Usha Uthup, who popularized Indian pop music, has lost her husband Jani Chacko Uthup. The singer’s husband died in Kolkata on Monday, July 8, according to PTI reports. The 78-year-old complained of discomfort while watching television at home, according to her family, quoted by the news agency. When doctors reached the hospital, they declared him dead. The family members also stated that catastrophic cardiac arrest was the cause of death.

According to reports, Jani Chacko Uthup, a member of the tea plantation industry, met Usha in the early 1970s at the legendary Trincas nightclub. His last rites will be held on Tuesday, July 9. Besides Usha, he leaves behind a son named Sunny and a daughter named Anjali.
