Professional wrestler and voice actor of Winnie the Pooh as headliner at comic convention

The Quad Con Comic and Toy Show returns to Peoria this month, bringing guests from across the entertainment spectrum, such as former professional wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts and legendary animation voices Jim Cummings and Lizzie Freeman.

Roberts is best known as a wrestler with the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s and 1990s, and currently manages various wrestlers. Cummings has voiced over 600 roles in his four decades as a voice actor, including Winnie the Pooh, the Tasmanian Devil, and Darkwing Duck. He has also voiced roles in films such as “Shrek,” “The Lion King,” and “Aladdin.” Freeman, a voice actress based in Los Angeles, is known for the title role in the animated adventure series “The Amazing Digital Circus,” as well as roles in the animated series “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” and the video game “Genshin Impact.”

Quad Con will feature 200 booths filled with pop culture items, from artists and vendors to role-playing games to vintage magazines and posters, as well as a video game tournament ($500), costume contest ($500), Battlebot tournament, Magic the Gathering tournament, and live wrestling matches.

The nonprofit Helping Hannah’s Heart Foundation is hosting a silent auction at Quad Con to raise money for children with heart disease. Each item starts at $5.

Quad Con will be held at the Peoria Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available at the Peoria Civic Center box office, located at 201 SW Jefferson Avenue, Peoria. Admission is $20 for a weekend pass, $15 for Saturday admission, and $10 for Sunday admission.
