Mark your calendars, Utah hockey fans.
The state’s new NHL team will play its first preseason game on September 23 at the Delta Center.
The Utah Hockey Club released its full preparation schedule for the 2024-25 season on Thursday. The team will play on home ice only once during the seven games.
Utah HC will debut against the St. Louis Blues on September 22 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, before facing the Los Angeles Kings the next night in Salt Lake City.
This game replaces the previously scheduled Frozen Fury game between the Kings and the Vegas Golden Knights. That game in Salt Lake City was scheduled before the formation of the Utah Hockey Club and the team says tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.
Utah’s third home preseason game, an Oct. 5 game against the Colorado Avalanche, will be played at the Maverik Center in West Valley City due to a scheduling conflict at the Delta Center.
