FSU Baseball returns from the College World Series to great fan acclaim

  • The FSU baseball team returned to Tallahassee after ending the season in Omaha at the College World Series.
  • The team was greeted by a crowd of fans who expressed their appreciation for the performance.
  • Now watch fans describe this team and what it meant to the fan base.

TRANSCRIPT OF THE MISSION:

Even without winning the championship, it was a significant season.

“I’m sure they’re disappointed. But we’re not. We’re so proud of this team.”

I’m your College Town neighborhood reporter, Alberto Camargo.

I ask Florida State baseball fans what this year’s team means to them.

National semi-finalists.

49 wins – the most in over 10 years.

These are some of the many ways one could describe the 2024 FSU baseball team.

“Incredible turnaround.”

“Great renovation.”

“Persistent.”

The Seminoles returned to Tallahassee on Wednesday without a title – although that was not evident from the crowd that greeted them.

ALBERTO CAMARGO, NEIGHBORHOOD REPORTER FROM COLLEGE TOWN, WAS THERE FOR THE TEAM’S ARRIVAL, ON INSTAGRAM:

I spoke to Mason Miller.

For her, it was a no-brainer to take the time to support the team.

“It’s still tough coming home, and without a trophy, but they need to know that we’re here for them no matter what, and I think that will really lift their spirits.”

When speaking with fans, many of them said the trip to Omaha was even more special in memory of the late Mike Martin, who led the Noles to Omaha 17 times as coach in 40 years.

Bo Barfield says he can’t help but think of “11.”

“Mike Martin, man, he’s an icon. Nobody can say otherwise. We played Game 11 of the College World Series, which was pretty incredible. There were 11s all over the place out there, man.”

FSU’s Mike Martin’s legacy continues to be honored by lifelong fans

The year 2024 may have ended sooner than expected, but FSU fans have made it clear how much they value this team.

Next season will be the team’s third under coach Link Jarrett and fans are already optimistic that they can build on this season’s success.
