Walmart and Sam’s Club want your product ideas for a new competition

TAMPA, Fla. (July 8, 2024) — Budding business tycoons, get your pitches ready! Walmart has opened the application period for its 11th annual Open Call event, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to small business owners and entrepreneurs across the country. The event, scheduled for September 24-25, offers the opportunity to sell products on Walmart or Sam’s Club shelves or on their websites. The application deadline is July 15, 2024.

Walmart’s Open Call is part of a $350 billion commitment by the retail giant to boost U.S. manufacturing by sourcing products made, grown or assembled in the U.S. Since its launch in 2014, the program has given thousands of small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to offer their products, and many have earned a place on Walmart and Sam’s Club shelves.

At last year’s event, over 700 companies from all 50 states presented over 1,000 pitches to Walmart and Sam’s Club retailers. For Florida entrepreneurs, Open Call is an exceptional opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with these major retailers. Those who secure a “golden ticket” can expect significant growth and leverage Walmart’s massive customer base.

An Open Call win often brings significant benefits, including expanding manufacturing activity and creating jobs in local communities. Florida companies can benefit tremendously and have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of past winners who have achieved remarkable success.

Important dates to remember:

June 24: Application period begins

15th of July: Application deadline ends

20th of August: Entrepreneurs will be notified if they are selected for the open call.

24-25 September: Open call for tenders in Bentonville, Arkansas
