Top 10 Power Rankings in the Renaissance Club

Top 10 Power Rankings in the Renaissance Club

The PGA Tour joins forces with the DP World Tour for this week’s Genesis Scottish Open.

This event was first held in 1972, was upgraded to a DP World Tour Rolex Series event in 2017 and has been jointly sanctioned since 2022. It is traditionally held the week before The Open Championship and offers golfers a glimpse of the type of links they will see at the major championship that follows.

The Renaissance Club is a design by Tom Doak in North Berwick, which has hosted this event since 2019. It also hosted the 2020 Ladies Scottish Open.

TRC has a length of 6646 meters and a par of 70. It is not a long course, especially when conditions allow it to be played hard and fast.

Shot creativity is important this week and next. When it’s windy, which it often is, it’s important to maintain a low ball flight and calculate where you’re going to land your ball.

The fescue greens tend to run slowly, which can be a bit of a shock to the system for PGA Tour players and doesn’t necessarily make it easier to hole putts.

This week’s field is 156 and is split between members of the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour.

The weather looks downright awful this week. Rain is forecast for practice and tournament rounds practically every day. Temperatures are expected to stay at a constant 10 degrees Celsius. That’s links golf, baby!
