Fugitive taken into custody – Hot Springs Village Voice

Search for murder suspect begins on Tuesday

Suspect of multiple murder Stacy Lee Drake, 50, was taken into custody around 10 a.m. today by Morrilton Police Department, Arkansas State Police and the Conway County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was.in a wooded area south of the Morrilton intersection of University Boulevard and Poor Farm Road.

Drake was taken into custody without incident following a manhunt that began late Tuesday, June 18. The Arkansas National Guard and the Arkansas Division of Community Correction assisted in the search.

Drake is wanted in Oklahoma in connection with murder and auto thefts, and has warrants for his arrest in several jurisdictions for additional crimes, including aggravated robbery, auto theft and murder.

ASP issued several public bulletins about the fugitive Wednesday morning, with one round of cell phone activations during the Hot Springs Village POA board meeting in June. Morillton is located north of the West Gate on Highway 7.

Drake is being held at the Conway County Detention Center. Further information will be published as soon as it is available.

He reportedly grew up and attended elementary school in Paris, Arkansas, and is currently on parole from a federal prison in Alabama.
