Taylor Swift’s “Tortured Poets” stays at the top of the Billboard 200 for 11 weeks, Megan Thee Stallion and Chappell Roan in the top 5 – GoldDerby

Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department was released in April and has been at number one on the Billboard 200 ever since. The album added an 11th week to the tracking week that ended on July 4, Independence Day, and reached 114,000 album-equivalent units based on combined record sales, single track sales and online streams. “Tortured Poets” has now overtaken Swift’s “Fearless” and “1989” as her longest-running album at number one. She also extended her record as a solo artist with the most weeks at number one (she is now at 80). And it was the first album by a woman to spend 11 consecutive weeks at number one since Whitney Houston‘s “Bodyguard” soundtrack from 1992-1993.

Speaking of tireless albums, Morgan WallaceThe Rock’s “One Thing at a Time” re-entered the charts at number two with 74,000 units in its 70th week. Megan Thee Stallion“Megan” debuted at number three with 64,000 units. Billie Eilish“Hit Me Hard and Soft” remained at number four with 63,000 units. And Chappell Roan With 60,000 copies sold, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” made it into the top five for the first time; the album was released in September 2023, but has become a huge surprise hit in recent weeks.

In our weekly Billboard 200 prediction contest, most of our players were correct once again when they predicted that “Tortured Poets” would land at number one and sell between 100,000 and 149,999 album units. However, only six people saw “One Thing at a Time” coming back at number two. At number three, our general consensus was correct with “Megan.” At number four, seven people correctly guessed “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” And 13 players predicted that “Midwest Princess” would climb to number five.
