100 Years Quest anime with new Lucy artwork

The Fairy Tail: 100 Years of Adventure The anime finally premiered on the big screen on July 7, 2024. To celebrate the return of the popular shonen action series, a special illustration of Lucy Heartfilia was created by the creator of A silent voice.

Yoshitoki Oima, the author and illustrator of A silent voiceillustrated the Fairy tale Heroine for the series’ official social media account, X, to commemorate the TV broadcast of the 100 years of Quest Anime series. Oima’s illustration of Lucy is a little daring, as the Celestial Sorceress wears little clothing, with no scarf around her chest. For long-time fans of Fairy tale or fans of Hiro Mashima in general, the slightly raunchy artwork of Lucy is not far from the norm. However, for those who like Oima’s works like A silent voice or Into your eternityher somewhat provocative artwork of Lucy might surprise.

A Silent Voice’s Yoshitoki Oima reveals bold Fairy Tail artwork of Lucy Heartfilia

Oima made a name for herself with the 2013 manga series A silent voiceThe story follows Shoya Ishida as he tries to make amends with Shoko Nishimiya, a deaf high school student he bullied in elementary school. A silent voice was praised by fans and critics alike for dealing with sensitive topics such as disability, harassment, regret, and suicide. An anime film by Naoko Yamada (Purchase!, Sound! Euphonium, The Heike Story) was released in 2016. Oima is currently working on Into your eternityabout an immortal being named Fushi, who takes on many forms to find out what it means to be human. An anime series by Into your eternity will air in 2021 and, according to the official announcement, will have a third season in March 2023.

Fairy Tail and its creator Hiro Mashima are back in style

Fairy Tail: 100 Years of Adventure marks the official return of the fantasy anime series since its last release in 2019. The sequel series follows Lucy, Natsu Dragneel, and the other members of the Fairy Tail guild as they embark on an epic quest to seal the Five Dragon Gods before they destroy the world. In addition to a new TV anime series Fairy tale is getting a video game sequel to the 2020 action role-playing game. Mashima is also involved in the new monster-rearing video game called Pharmacywhich – as the name suggests – combines elements from farming simulations and monster fighting games such as Pokemon or Palworld.

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest is part of Crunchyroll’s Summer 2024 schedule. Episode 1 of the new series is currently available with English subtitles. The original anime series can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
