The new Apple Watch Series 10 could bring big changes for the upcoming 10th anniversary

Apple plans to make significant changes to the Apple Watch Series 10 this fall, possibly to celebrate its tenth anniversary, Bloomberg wrote, adding that the new watches are expected to feature larger displays and slimmer profiles.

Both versions of the Apple Watch Series 10, codenamed N217 and N218, will have screens roughly the same size as the Apple Watch Ultra and a new chip.

However, it is not yet entirely clear whether the new watches will be launched as anniversary models, the report says.

What new features could the new Apple Watches get?

While Apple has developed health tools for its watches that can detect things like high blood pressure and sleep apnea, testing has revealed reliability issues that may delay their release beyond this year.

What are the challenges with Apple Watch features?

Even if the blood pressure function comes onto the market, it cannot replace the blood pressure cuff, Bloomberg wrote. The function will only monitor relatively high blood pressure by determining the baseline value.

The sleep apnea feature faces even greater challenges, particularly due to Apple’s ongoing litigation with Masimo Corp.

In addition, Apple has been working on a blood sugar monitoring feature for a decade and has achieved important milestones, the report said.

Apple is also considering 3D printing the casing of some Apple Watch models. This could speed up production and also protect the environment by using less material.
