A historic golf club is completing its multi-million dollar renovations later this year, but you don’t need a good swing to enjoy the on-site restaurant.

Highland House, a new concept from Dunedin-based Feinstein Group, will be the house restaurant of the new and improved Dunedin Golf Club, available to both members and non-members.

A press release said the 15,000-square-foot New American restaurant at 1050 Palm Blvd. will offer guests “an upscale, casual vibe” at an affordable price, though the Feinstein Group has not yet announced any menu items.

Last month, the local hospitality group announced that the Dunedin City Commission had unanimously approved it to take over all food and beverage concepts at the newly renovated golf club.

The grand opening of Highland House is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2024.

The Dunedin Golf Club has been in existence since 1927, owned by the city since 1938, and has hosted major events such as the Senior PGA Championships throughout its long history. Both Zach and Christina Feinstein of the Feinstein Group say they have a close connection to the historic club.

“Zach’s first job was at the Dunedin Golf Club, so there is a certain nostalgia attached to this project; the club is right on our doorstep and close to our hearts,” Christina Feinstein said of her husband and co-founder in a press release. “We are committed to providing the Dunedin community with a special place to eat well, host events and create memories.”

Renovations to the Dunedin Golf Club, funded by the City of Dunedin, are estimated to cost $6.4 million and aim to restore the course to its original 20th century Donald Ross design.

Highland House will be The Feinstein Group’s fourth Tampa Bay concept, joining the intimate fine-dining spot The Black Pearl, the cocktail lounge Sonder Social Club and the American restaurant The Living Room, which has locations in Dunedin and Wesley Chapel.
