New picture book explains regular and irregular plural forms of nouns to young readers

“Learning to read and write is worth the effort and is just as fun and fulfilling as dancing and playing,” said Licari. “I hope that ‘Mia’s Mice’ inspires children and their parents to appreciate the value of literacy and education. After all, reading and grammar should be fun and interesting for children too, and I believe this new book can help achieve that.”

Licari is an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Long Island Children’s Writers and Illustrators (LICWI), and the Smithtown Library Writing Group. He visits 2nd and 3rd graders, giving readings and discussing his book, Mia’s Mouses, and leading workshops using his companion workbook, Mia’s Mouses Workbook and Coloring Book, which is designed to further enhance the learning experience through interactive activities, crossword puzzles, and word search puzzles.

“The English language and its grammar rules can often seem difficult, especially when it comes to mastering regular and irregular plural forms of nouns,” Licari said. “But with a little practice and a pinch of curiosity, these concepts become much more accessible and even fun for young readers and writers.”
