  • TikTok removes over 166 million videos worldwide.
  • Additionally, 976,479,946 comments were filtered and removed.
  • To protect young users, around 21,639,414 accounts were deleted.

Popular video-sharing platform TikTok released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of the current year on Monday, announcing that the company has taken action against more than 20 million videos.

Between January and March 2024, the platform took action against 20,207,878 videos in Pakistan for violating its Community Guidelines.

TikTok’s Community Guidelines are consistently enforced across all content and users and are carefully crafted to ensure a safe, inclusive, and authentic environment for users.

The platform uses advanced technology and human oversight to identify and review the content uploaded to it and take appropriate action in case of policy violations.

Additionally, the report found that TikTok removed 166,997,307 videos worldwide, representing 0.9% of all videos uploaded to the platform.

A significant portion of these 129,335,793 videos were identified and removed through automated detection technologies, while 6,042,287 videos were restored after further review, it said.

Additionally, 976,479,946 comments were removed and filtered using comment safety tools during this three-month period.

In addition, to protect young users, 21,639,414 accounts suspected of belonging to people under the age of 13 were deleted.

In addition, the company has taken strict measures to prevent the spread of automated spam accounts.

“This release underscores TikTok’s unwavering commitment to transparency, safety and inclusivity and reflects its dedication to building trust and ensuring a safe platform for its global community,” the company said in a statement.

It was also emphasized that the regular publication of the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report provides insights into the scope and nature of content and account actions.

The platform also said it will continue to provide a summary of removed Covert Influence Operations (CIO) networks, while detailed information on individual disrupted operations will be available in a new standalone report.
