Love Island’s Diamanté explains why she laughed during Casa Amor reunion

Love Island’s Diamanté explains why she laughed during Casa Amor reunion

Love Island’s Casa Amor has finally come to an end. The iconic reunion took place last Thursday (July 4). Unsurprisingly, it was as dramatic as ever, with one particular moment that saw bombshell Diamanté cause a stir. Now, she’s spoken out and explained what really happened.

OK, so let’s recap. As you’d expect from Love Island in the summer, the original men and women were split between two villas for Casa Amor, where they were joined by 12 new islanders. While Joey and Ciaran remained loyal to their original couples, Wil and Sean shared beds with Lucy and Diamanté respectively, and kissed them outside of challenges.

However, when it came time to reunite, they decided to “stay true” to their original pairing and team up with Uma and Matilda, even though they had flirted quite a bit during their separation.

While Wil was reuniting with Uma, bombshell Diamanté – a 21-year-old from London – laughed and Jess accused her of making fun of Uma’s injuries. Diamanté insisted at the time that she wasn’t laughing at Uma and has now explained what happened on Instagram Stories.

When asked “What made you laugh at the reunion?” she replied:

“I’m going to answer that question. I’m doing this right before bed, an unedited, unadulterated statement. First of all, I wasn’t laughing at Uma. I know things can be edited in a way that (dramatizes them), but I was laughing at the fact that obviously I was at Casa and I saw how all the guys were acting. They were all very open (to getting to know us).”

“And Wil was basically making excuses for his behavior towards Lucy now that Uma was in the picture. At the time, I didn’t know Uma was laughing at her. I had no reason to laugh at her. I feel like the hate comments are coming from people misunderstanding the situation. So I don’t hold any offense against them. It’s just something that needs to be cleared up.

“As for Uma, there’s no reason to laugh at her. I think she’s cute. It was just Wil and his excuses.”
