Razorbacks close to making an offer to offensive lineman Greenwood

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Arkansas hopes to continue to address its offensive line woes this season with coach Eric Mateos. Utilizing the transfer portal helped fill some holes in a short amount of time, but Arkansas knows it needs to develop freshmen within the program.

The Razorbacks already have a deep pool of in-state talent for 2026, similar to 2024 and 2025. Taylor is currently the third-best prospect in the state and No. 14 at his position, according to Rivals.

Taylor frequently uses social media to post practice highlights, camp updates and college visits. He has reported eight offers, including Kentucky, Ole Miss, Memphis, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound lineman also frequently receives offers from Arkansas and Oklahoma.

“Arkansas hasn’t talked about an offer yet,” Taylor said. “Coach (Eric) Mateos told me after camp that I was much closer to an offer than I thought and was impressed with my improvement since the last time he saw me at Baylor.”

This month he has some decisions to make about what visits he will take. July 27 is a very popular date as Arkansas hosts Junior Day, Juice Fest at Ole Miss and another camp at Virginia Tech. Taylor tells allHOGS the Sooners, Razorbacks, Rebels, Hokies, Oklahoma State and South Florida have invited him for game day visits.

IN HIS WORDS

Arkansas: “Honestly, it would be great to get an offer from Arkansas. That home-state offer is proof that you’ve made it, so to speak. I’ve been to ‘The Hill’ seven or eight times now, on unofficial visits and/or game days, and I really love it there. One thing I know for sure: When the time comes, I’ll only commit once and give this school everything I have academically and athletically.”

Oklahoma: “Man, they’ve shown so much love and interest. They’ve been in contact with me at least once a week, they’ve been talking for a few months now. Coach (Bill) Bedenbaugh and Coach (Ben) Tawwater are excited about me and my development. Knowing they’re watching and staying in touch shows they’re serious about building a relationship and I appreciate that. I like that the OU football program has what they call ‘The Soul Mission’ where they give back to the local community in different ways and travel to a different country each year to help underprivileged communities. That kind of thing is important to me, especially after I was recently baptized. They put a lot of emphasis on building young men on and off the field, especially within their faith.”

Virginia Tech: “The Hokies have loved me from day one. I did a small practice with them after main camp last summer and got a personal offer. They stay in touch with me regularly and are excited for me to come and play football there. They text me daily and have never wavered in their belief in me or my ability. It was great to be recruited by their pledges earlier this year when I visited them for the spring game. They really want me to go to school there. It’s a family atmosphere and the campus is just beautiful. Head coach (Brent) Pry always says ‘This is my home’ and they mean it. Family is important to me, so that speaks to me. I even spoke to them on the phone today and we didn’t even talk about football. Not to mention they have the best walk-out song in college football, I can’t wait to experience that in person this season.”
