‘Caped Crusader’ reveals the voices of Batman, Harley Quinn and more

Prime Video has found its dark knight. Hamish Linklater (midnight fair) was chosen to play Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Masked Crusader, The upcoming series from Prime Video come from Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho. Also starring are Christina Ricci (Yellow Jackets) as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Jamie Chung (Stone Cold Fox) as Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel and Diedrich Bader (Harley Quinn) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. The ensemble also includes Minnie Driver and Mckenna Grace.

In the series, the corrupt outnumber the good, crime is unstoppable, and law-abiding citizens live in constant fear in Gotham City. Forged in the fires of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less human – Batman. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions have deadly, unforeseen consequences.

The series comes from EPs JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. Batman: Caped Crusader is based on DC characters. In addition to Abrams, Reeves and Timm, Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich and Sam Register are executive producers.

Batman: A cold, ruthless avenger of evil who seems more machine than man. Forged in the fire of tragedy, every fiber of his being is dedicated to the eradication of crime.

Bruce Wayne: To the general public, Bruce Wayne is a superficial amateur who appears to squander his parents’ vast fortune on frivolous pursuits and hedonistic pleasures. In fact, he is an elaborate façade carefully constructed to divert attention from his activities as Batman.

Selina Kyle/Catwoman: Selena Kyle is a carefree and spoiled heiress whose family lost their fortune after her father was imprisoned for embezzlement. Despite having the silver spoon ripped out of her mouth, Selina refuses to give up her life of luxury and becomes Catwoman to maintain her lavish lifestyle in a “fun” way.

Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn – Despite her personable and bubbly demeanor, Dr. Harleen Quinzel is a brilliant psychiatrist who treats some of Gotham’s elite. As Harley Quinn, however, she is a completely different person. A creepy, quiet, calculating menace who secretly dispenses her twisted justice on the truly despicable among her elite clientele.

Harvey Dent/Two-Face: Talented, handsome and charismatic prosecutor Harvey Dent is also ruthlessly ambitious, arrogant, short-tempered and a dangerous person to cross. After a vengeful criminal disfigures half of his face with acid, the two sides of his nature are separated… and exaggerated. The scarred half of his face represents his compassion, sadness and decency, while the beautiful half now represents his anger and sense of entitlement.

Batman: The Masked Crusader Premieres on Prime Video on August 1st.
