Jake Quickenden and his wife Sophie announce that they are expecting their third child

Jake Quickenden announced on Sunday that he and his wife Sophie are expecting their second child after “a long time of trying”.

The couple, who married in 2022, already have a three-year-old son, Leo, from a previous relationship, as well as Sophie’s son Freddie.

The 35-year-old former X-Factor star shared an emotional montage on Instagram of his family learning the happy news.

Overwhelmed by his emotions, Jake wiped tears from his eyes when he was told that Sophie showed her shocked sons an ultrasound scan during her pregnancy.

The former I’m a Celeb campmate captioned the post: “WE HAVE NEWS… soon to be five. After many years of trying, we can finally tell you that we are welcoming another bundle of joy into the world.”

Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments section to send their well wishes, with Vicky Pattison saying: “Best news ever, congratulations guys.”

While Michelle Visage added: “Congratulations you beauties,” and Coleen Nolan gushed: “OMG congratulations… I’m so happy for you.”

Ulrika Jonsson typed: “Wow!! I’m so happy for you all!!!”, while H from Steps said: “Congratulations!”.

Jake had previously revealed that he had been targeted by vicious trolls who criticized the way he acts as a father to his youngest child, Leo.

The reality star said he was finding it difficult not to let the cruel comments affect his mental health as he appeared on Loose Women with his son on his lap.

He said that the comments affected him more because they concerned his son and admitted that he often found himself talking back to the trolls.

He explained: “Unfortunately, when you have a platform, you’re going to get it over and over again, there are going to be people who question your decisions, there are going to be people who question the way you are a father.”

“It’s pretty annoying. I’m starting to understand it a little bit better because I always feel like if you met me and knew me, you wouldn’t say it. So why do I let these people influence me when they don’t know me?

“I argue and allow it to affect my mental health and make me depressed. Trolls always pick the things they know will hurt you. When it’s your child, it hurts you even more.”

The dedicated father also said that Leo had “changed his life” and effusively described him as “the most amazing little boy”.

Jake got engaged to his girlfriend Sophie in August 2021 while they were vacationing in Rhodes, Greece with their children.
