Michigan Football expected to replace elite target from Notre Dame

Michigan football appears to be regaining its lost momentum. Several predictions came in today that Michigan will acquire elite recruit Ivan Taylor from Notre Dame. The Wolverines have been battling with Alabama and Notre Dame for Taylor’s services, and it looks like Michigan could emerge victorious.

Taylor is ranked among the top 50 players in the country, is Notre Dame’s highest-ranked recruit and would be a huge asset to Michigan football. Taylor would be Michigan’s second top-100 safety recruit, with Kainoa Winston already committed.

The Wolverines increased the pressure on Taylor after JaDon Blair, another safety, committed to Notre Dame, and it appears to have paid off for the Wolverines. Ivan Taylor is a guy who could finish the 2025 cycle with a great final season as a five-star player.

A Florida native who plays against some of the best teams in the country, Taylor has all the tools to be a superstar at the next level. The predictions that Taylor will transfer to Michigan followed two tweets from Sherrone Moore that hinted at commitments. While the first tweet was presumably directed at elite tight end Andrew Olesh, who will be committed on the 8th, the second tweet confused many people before the predictions were released.

Lamar Morgan has done a great job recruiting so far. If Taylor transfers, Morgan will have signed two top-100 defensive backs for the 2025 class. That’s a great start for a coach with no previous Power Five experience. Keep an eye on Taylor’s signing, as it’s believed it could happen at any time. Go Blue!
