Jennifer Lopez releases “Cambia el Paso” video amid Ben Affleck’s marital problems

In her 2021 song, Jennifer Lopez reflects on not being afraid to change your life.

The 54-year-old “Can’t Get Enough” singer posted a clip from her 2021 video for “Cambia el Paso” – an empowerment song she co-wrote that’s about changing one’s circumstances – on Instagram on Sunday, July 7.

Translated from Spanish to English, one verse of the song includes the lines, “He doesn’t deserve to hold her in his arms.” However, that section of the song was not part of the snippet posted by Lopez.

The post came days after Lopez spent the Fourth of July holiday in New York away from her husband Ben Affleck, who was in Los Angeles.

Notably, Lopez originally released the song in July 2021, just months after the end of her relationship with Alex Rodriguez.

Lopez initially captioned the Instagram post with just the song title, but changed it within a few hours to: “Happy anniversary ‘Cambia el Paso’… ☀️🌴.”

The clip posted by Lopez only included the pre-chorus and chorus, in which she sings “Uno, dos, tres, uno, dos tres, avanza,” which translates to “one, two, three, go forward.”

“All she wants to do is just dance, dance, dance, dance,” she sings in the chorus in English before singing the title of the song, which translates to “Change the step.”

In the clip, Lopez rolls around on the beach, wearing a silver bustier with denim shorts in one scene and dancing in the street in denim in another scene.

“Her life is better now without him…she don’t need nobody to be sane / She ain’t failing, she ain’t failing,” the song continues.

The marry me Star explained the meaning of the song on SiriusXM’s Pitbulls Globalization in 2021.

“The song is about change and not being afraid to take the step,” she said at the time. “Just take the step, make progress, do what you have to do.”

“If something doesn’t feel right, whatever it is in your life, just do something and dance,” Lopez continued.

The multi-talented artist, who began her career as a dancer, further explained that for her, “dancing means life, joy and happiness.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez arrive at the premiere of Amazon MGM Studios’ “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story” in Los Angeles in February.

“So when I talk about dancing, I’m talking about something different,” she said, adding that for her it means, “You have to be yourself, you have to be happy.”

In late June, a source told PEOPLE that Affleck, 51, had moved his belongings from the couple’s shared mansion in Los Angeles.

The couple, who married in July 2022, are “focusing on their separate lives” this summer amid tensions in their marriage and “have no plans together for the summer,” a source also told PEOPLE.
