LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) — More construction is underway on Michigan Avenue on the city’s east side, and officials say it will continue through the end of September.
Michigan Avenue from Foster Avenue to Fairview Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, July 8.
City officials said local access will continue to be available for businesses and residents in the area.
Diversions are being set upsaid the City of Lansing’s Department of Public Services.

To avoid the construction when traveling east on Michigan Avenue, turn north onto Pennsylvania Avenue, then east onto Saginaw Street, then south onto Howard Street to rejoin Michigan Avenue.
If you are traveling west on Michigan Street, turn north on Homer Street, then west on Grand River/Oakland Avenue, then south on Pennsylvania Avenue to re-enter Michigan.
The construction work is part of Phase 2 of the the Michigan Avenue Rehabilitation ProjectThe estimated total budget for the project is $14.1 million.
