Billie Boullet stars alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Netflix’s “Man On Fire”

Billie Boullet (A small light) will star alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Man in flames, The upcoming drama series adaptation from Netflix.

Based on AJ Quinnell’s book series, the eight-part man on Fire tells the story of John Creasy (Abdul-Mateen II). Once a highly functioning and experienced special forces mercenary known for surviving even the most bleak situations, Creasy now suffers from severe post-traumatic stress disorder. Determined to conquer his personal demons, he embarks on a path to redemption. But before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever.

Boullet will play Poe Rayburn, a role loosely based on the novel’s young character. Poe has the sleek lines of someone growing up at a fast and confusing pace, and the attitude that comes with it. Unhappy about moving to Brazil due to her parents’ decision, she spends her days with her wealthy international classmates until a tragic incident changes her perspective on family and life. The sole witness to a horrific event, Poe quickly learns that her only ally is John Creasy.

man on Fire is an adaptation based on Quinnell’s man on Fire And The perfect killThe first two books of Quinnell’s five-volume series were already filmed in 2004 with Denzel Washington in the lead role and in 1987 in an Italian film of the same name. Director Steven Caple Jr. (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Creed II) will direct episodes 1 and 2 of the latest version and will also serve as executive producer.

Kyle Killen (Halo, Awake, Lone Star) is the writer, executive producer and showrunner. Executive producers are Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann for New Regency Productions, which holds the intellectual property rights and financed the 2004 film; Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Tracey Cook for Chernin Entertainment; and Killen and Scott Pennington for Chapter Eleven. Caple, Ed McDonnell, Michael Polaire and Abdul-Mateen II will also serve as executive producers, along with Stacy Perskie, who is an executive producer for RedRum.

Boullet, who made her debut in the CBBC series A lousy witchreceived a Critics Choice nomination for her portrayal of Anne Frank in Nat Geo and Disney+ series A small light. In film, she will next be seen in a sci-fi survival thriller Worldbreakeralongside Luke Evans and Milla Jovovich. Boullet is represented by UTA and Curtis Brown Group.
