CAA confirmed in a statement to Deadline that The hunger Games Star died after a “long illness”. The actor’s son Kiefer Sutherland immediately confirmed the news via social media with a tribute to his father.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away,” Kiefer wrote next to a photo with Donald. “Personally, I consider him to be one of the most important actors in film history. He was never discouraged by a role, whether it was good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved and you can never ask for more than that. A fulfilled life.”
