The launch of the fourth season of “Power Book II: Ghost” on Starz attracts more than 6.5 million viewers in the premiere week

Starz announced on June 18 that the first part of the fourth season of its crime series “Power Book II: Ghost” was watched by more than 6.5 million viewers across multiple platforms in its premiere week, making it one of the network’s biggest launches in history.

Season 4, Part 1 also broke engagement records on the Starz app: Over 11% of the streams on the premiere day occurred in the first hour after the episode’s initial broadcast. On linear television, the premiere of “Power Book II: Ghost” Season 4 was the cable program with the highest ratings among black households in its premiere week. In total, the series of the “Power” universe have been watched for 1.5 billion hours worldwide to date.

Power Book II: Ghost is both a direct sequel and a spin-off of Power, which aired on Starz from 2014 to 2020. Power tells the story of James St. Patrick, an intelligent, slick, but ruthless drug dealer who goes by the alias “Ghost.” He seeks to leave the criminal world to pursue legitimate business interests as a nightclub owner, and tries to balance these two lives while simultaneously evading police capture, trying to navigate his crumbling marriage, and managing shifting economic alliances.

Power Book II: Ghost follows Ghost’s son Tariq as he tries to shed his father’s legacy as the pressure to save his family mounts. He falls into the clutches of the ruthless Tejada crime family while trying to balance his drug dealing with his education, his love life, his family affairs and the surveillance of law enforcement.

Blige as Monet Tejada, Cliff “Method Man” Smith as Davis MacLean, Gianni Paolo as Brayden Weston, Woody McClain as Cane Tejada, Lovell Adams-Gray as Dru Tejada, LaToya Tonodeo as Diana Tejada, Alix Lapri as Effie Morales, Larenz Tate as Rashad Tate, Caroline Chikezie as Noma, Lightskinkeisha as Brushaundria Carmichael and Michael Ealy as Detective Don Carter.
