Five recruits who could be next for Michigan football in 2025

Five recruits who could be next for Michigan football in 2025

On Sunday, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore not only tweeted his famous “eyeball emoji” once – indicating that the Wolverines have received a verbal commitment but it has not yet been made public – but posted eyeball emojis twice. So the Wolverines are expecting two new additions to the class.

Several new recruits are expected to announce their decisions in the next few days, and the Wolverines will likely be looking to regain some momentum after losing several juniors who were likely to be added to the class. With that in mind, we predict which players could be next in line and when their decision might come.

1

4-star S Ivan Taylor

Paul Ryan-Leesburg Daily Commercial

Announcement date: At any time

Ranking: No. 41 overall (247Sports and ESPN)

Taylor has been committed to Notre Dame since December 2023, but on Sunday he received two On3 projections that he will transfer to Michigan football. Could Taylor be one of the new additions Sherrone Moore is referring to? Given the timing, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he exits sooner rather than later.

Announcement date: Monday, July 8

Ranking: No. 78 overall (On3)

Olesh has long been leaning toward Ann Arbor, but Alabama and Florida have been gaining some traction. However, with his decision fast approaching, it seems he could be there sooner than later.

3-star WR Phillip Wright III

Announcement date: Saturday, July 13

Ranking: No. 415 overall (On3 industry ranking)

Wright has long been trending toward Ann Arbor, too, especially when Georgia filled the receiver position. With Taz Williams apparently trending toward Penn State, it seems clear that Michigan has two options left at receiver: Wright and four-star Andrew Marsh.

5-star OL Andrew Babalola

Announcement date: This month

Ranking: No. 14 overall (247Sports)

It appears to be a battle between Michigan and Stanford, with the Wolverines seeing a recent uptick in his recruitment. Stanford is still near the top in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but the latest information seems to favor the maize and blues. According to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, Babalola could make a decision in the coming weeks.

4-star WR Andrew Marsh

Announcement date: August or November

Ranking: No. 14 overall (247Sports)

Marsh appears to have a good chance of landing in this class, but the likelihood of him being one of the next is slim. The four-star receiver plans to make his commitment in either August or November, in honor of his late father. Could he move up his timetable? It’s possible, but not likely.
