68-year-old man dies in ATV rollover accident in Thumb, Michigan

HURON COUNTY, MI – A 68-year-old man died in a rollover crash after he lost control of his SUV, police said.

The man killed was identified as Randy S. Haley of Bad Axe, according to the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, near Lackie Road and Soper Road in Colfax Township. According to police, Haley was driving an ATV and turned onto Lackie Road too fast.

Haley was ejected from the vehicle, which rolled at least twice before landing on top of him, police said. Haley was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy has been ordered while sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the accident.
